I&#8217;ve consolidated here some resources that I have enjoyed over the years, or that are not easily accessible (the information about x-rays tend to be scattered, which is something x-ray do very well)<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>To get started, I recommend going through the free course by Philip Wilmott from PSI on EdX: <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.edx.org\/courses\/course-v1:EPFLx+SynchrotronsX+2016_T3\/course\/\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'https:\/\/courses.edx.org\/courses\/course-v1:EPFLx+SynchrotronsX+2016_T3\/course\/', 'Synchrotrons and X-Ray Free Electron Lasers']);\" >Synchrotrons and X-Ray Free Electron Lasers<\/a>. It is pretty comprehensive and covers a lot of the basis of x-ray science; it&#8217;s basically a boiled down version of the companion book &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/book\/10.1002\/9781119970958\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/book\/10.1002\/9781119970958', 'An Introduction to Synchrotron Radiation: Techniques and Applications']);\" >An Introduction to Synchrotron Radiation: Techniques and Applications<\/a>&#8221; he wrote in 2011. I&#8217;m not sure if they will increase their cap of 60 participants.<\/div>\n<h3>Light source 101<\/h3>\n<div>For the <a href=\"https:\/\/als.lbl.gov\/2020-als-user-meeting-highlights\/\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'https:\/\/als.lbl.gov\/2020-als-user-meeting-highlights\/', 'ALS User Meeting']);\" >ALS User Meeting<\/a> this year (held remotely), <strong>Fanny Rodolakis<\/strong> and <strong>Monika Blum<\/strong> organized a new edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/lbl.gov\/ls-101\/home\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'https:\/\/sites.google.com\/lbl.gov\/ls-101\/home', 'Light Source 101 workshop']);\" >Light Source 101 workshop<\/a>, where beamline scientists from the Advanced Light Source explain their science.
